The Chesapeake Bay was shaped over 10,000 years ago. Through the years it has been pristine wildlife habitat and home to generations of watermen and women depending on it for their livelihoods. The Chesapeake Bell commemorates life, work and play on this mighty Bay. Created by Jim Davidson for those with joyful memories of Chesapeake Bay. Hand crafted on the Maine Coast, these unusual wind bells have three clearly distinct tones that echo the beautifully haunting sounds of Harbor Bell Buoys and Island Pasture Bells. Made from high grade cor-ten steel, used to bridges, Guard Rails and Lamp Post because it requires no maintenance, Maine Buoy Bells are designed to hang outdoors all year long. As they weather, they turn a rich rust color. Cor-ten steel will not rust out, and the lovely patina will actually preserve and improve the tones for years. Fine quality materials and pride in workmanship mean these rugged chimes will endure to become family heirlooms. Please note: to capture the true nature of the Chesapeake Buoy, this Bell has been given three tones. 14.75" High.
